Luxor - Milking your Galabaya

We're staying at the Venus Hotel in Luxor for the next couple of days. A 17 year old boy attached himself to us and took us all over town tonight. His name is Ali and he's really cute. I decided to do a painting of him. He took us to meet his family, friends, to a papyrus shop, to play dominos, to play a PlayStation futbol game (he beat me 2-0), and a horse drawn carriage ride.

I did not actually see what I am about to write about but I was there and I heard it repeated so many times by Anjie and Liz that I feel qualified to relay the story. Anjie and Liz were in the back of the carriage with Ali and his cousin Mustaffa (also 17). I was in the front sandwiched between the two 12 year old drivers. (How old do you have to be to drive a carriage here ?) At one point I heard a shriek followed by laughter and this is what I am told caused it: Ali was putting the moves on Anjie and Mustaffa was trying to put the moves on Liz. She kept swatting him with a rolled up papyrus scroll and he was begging her to let him touch her exposed knee. She kept saying no but he kept asking her and she finally said yes and then after he touched her knee, he pulled up his galabaya which is a long dress/robe type thing that some men wear here and he pointed to a stain on his boxers.

Liz: What's that ?
Mustaffa: It's milk.
Liz: What milk ? Where did you get milk from ?
Mustaffa: (sheepishly) It's MY milk.

He came in his pants from touching her knee and now we have a knew expression in these parts... instead of "creaming your pants" it's "milking your galabaya." And Liz has a new nickname which is Golden Knee.

A first hand account of this incident can be read here.
