Wadi Rum, Jordan
I met David on the ferry and by chance we ended up staying at the Wadi Rum Bedouin camp and it was so beautiful there and I had such a great time the first night that I decided to stay another night and the Bedouin guide, Odeh, let me stay for free !
Odeh told me about a 65 year old American woman who has lived in Wadi Rum by herself for 5 years. She bought 5 camels and she lives out here and writes. I would love to meet her. He says she moved out here because she can't stand life in America.
At night me, two French girls and Odeh went for a midnight desert walk. There was a full moon and it was so beautiful ! We found this huge sand dune and took turns dragging each other down it and rolling down it like a log. It's such a nice change from the pollution and crowds of Cairo.
There is some intense looking rock climbing in Wadi Rum. I wish I could stay here longer but Jordan is very expensive. Pictures from Wadi Rum. If you are ever visitng Wadi Rum you should talk to Odeh and have him be your guide. He was really great. This is his website.
